Lot 104 Die Geister meiner Freunde. …

Die Geister meiner Freunde. Mit 46 orig. Rorschach-artigen Klecksographien in Tinte oder Tusche. Hamburg, Kimmelstiel, um 1910. 1 w., 2 Bl., 46 Bl., 1 Bl. Kl.-8°. Grüne OLwd. mit Rotschnitt u. mont. Deckelillustration (gering berieben).

- Buchblock angebrochen, Farbe tls. leicht verwischt, sonst insgesamt gut erhalten.

Manuscripts – The Ghosts of My Friends. With 46 original Rorschach-like inkblots. Orig. green cloth with red edges and mounted cover illustration (slightly rubbed). - Very rare German edition, not listed in the KVK and currently no copy available on the market. - Around the same time, a similar autograph book with "ghost signatures" compiled by Cecil Henland was published in London, combining the then popular hobby of autograph collecting with a fascination for spiritualism. Signatures were made in ink along a vertical fold, then the page was folded back together, smudging the signature and creating ink blots similar to the later Rorschach test (1921). - With entries and "ghost signatures" from 1909-1931, as listed above. - Book body cracking, colour slightly smudged in places, otherwise good condition.
