Konkrete Kunst – Privatsammlung, Wilhelmshaven. - Winfried Gauls künstlerische Praxis ist geprägt von einem tiefen Interesse an der Struktur, Dynamik und Autonomie der Farbe. Seine Arbeiten zeugen von einem analytischen Zugriff auf bildnerische Mittel, der stets durch eine sinnlich erfahrbare Offenheit gebrochen wird. Das Aquarell als Medium nutzt Gaul nicht zur Illustration, sondern als Ort malerischer Forschung und als Experimentierfeld für Transparenz, Bewegung und Farbklang. Das blaue Aquarell von 1988 ist Ausdruck dieser Haltung: Farbschichten überlagern sich in einem kontrolliert freien Rhythmus, der zwischen Leichtigkeit und Verdichtung changiert. Die Farbe Blau wird dabei zum Träger atmosphärischer Tiefe, ohne sich narrativen Zuschreibungen zu unterwerfen.

The colour blue becomes a vehicle for atmospheric depth without submitting to narrative attributions.
