Krieg. 1916. Farblithographie auf schmwerem Simili Japan. 21,5 x 27,5 cm (40 x 50 cm). Signiert, im Stein datiert. - Papierbedingt sehr zart und gleichmäßig angebräunt, überwiegend im Blattrand etw. knickspurig sowie vereinzelt mit Anschmutzung. Insgesamt gut. Ausgezeichneter, kreidiger Druck der Darstellung mit Rand.

Online - Moderne und zeitgenössische Kunst – Der gerade 24-jährige Gering wurde in den Ersten Weltkrieg eingezogen und erlebte in den Schützengräbern traumatische Erlebnisse der Grausamkeit, so wurde er nach einem Bombenangriff verschüttet und schwer verletzt geborgen. Die Intensität der Kriegsszene, die der Künstler hier sehr verdichtet und erlebbar aufleben lässt, gehen auf jene hautnahen Erfahrungen zurück.

Signed, dated in the stone. - Very delicately and evenly browned due to the paper, mostly in the margins somewhat creased and with occasional soiling. Overall good. Superb, chalky impression of the depiction with margins. - Gering, who was only 24 years old, was forced to serve in the First World War and experienced traumatic experiences of cruelty in the trenches. He was buried after a bombing raid and was rescued severely injured. The intensity of the war scene, which the artist here depicts in a very condensed and tangible way, can be traced back to these very close experiences.
