Lot 411 Walasse Ting. Ohne Titel (Portrait mit …
Ohne Titel (Portrait mit Blumen). Um 1975. Aquarell auf leichtem Bütten. 14 x 20 cm. Mit dem Künstlerstempel. - Ränder technikbedingt leicht unregelmäßig, partiell wenig merklich angestaubt. Verso mit Farbdurchschlag. Insgesamt sehr gut.
Pop Art – Walasse Ting developed his distinctive visual language at the intersection of Eastern and Western artistic traditions. After early influences from traditional Chinese painting, he was particularly influenced by abstract expressionism and pop art, whose gestural freedom and colour intensity he combined with Asian line art and spontaneity. This watercolour takes up a central motif of his oeuvre: female facial features that, in combination with abstract, colourful flower forms, condense into a sensual, vital, elegant composition. Watercolour on light handmade paper. With the artist's stamp. - Edges slightly irregular due to the technique used, partially slightly dusty. Colour bleed on the reverse. Overall very good condition. This pictorial concept refers to the cultural hybridity that characterises Ting's entire oeuvre: an aesthetic synthesis between Eastern formal language and Western-influenced colour and motif language, in which both decorative strategies and gestural expressiveness are combined.
