Seit 2004 gehört er zu den wichtigen Protagonisten der Lissabonner Visual Street Performance-Szene. Seine Beiträge auf dem von Banksy kuratiertem Cans-Festival in London 2008 sorgten für Aufsehen. Seither gilt Vhils als einer der bekanntesten europäischen Streetart-Künstler.
