Inside Out, Times Square. 2021. Farblithographie auf Velin. 90,4 x 62 cm (100,3 x 70 cm). Mit Künstlersignet, datiert und nummeriert sowie mit dem blauen Kunstlersignet-Rundstempel. - Verso mittig sehr wenige, blasse Farbspuren, vom Druck, insgesamt sehr gut und ausgesprochen schön. Ganz ausgezeichneter, farbfrischer und stellenweise -intensiver Druck des großformatigen Blattes mit Rand, unten mit dem Schöpfrand.

Zeitgenössische Kunst – Eines von 180 Exemplaren. - Druck bei idem paris, mit deren Prägestempel. - Im Frühjahr 2013 lädt JR im Rahmen des partizipatorischen Kunstprojekts "Inside out New York City" die Stadtbewohner und dessen Besucher ein, Selbstporträts in einem Fotokabinen-Truck aufzunehmen, der am Times Square steht; dem Standort der weltweit ersten Fotokabine vor fast 100 Jahren. Die Fotoplakate werden am Duffy Square des Times Square angebracht, fast 6.000 Teilnehmer bedecken den Boden mit ihren Gesichtern. Ergänzt um eine riesige Werbetafel an 47th Street/7th Avenue mit Inside Out-Porträts, darüber ein sehr großes Auge als Plakat. JR nutzt die Stadtfläche als riesige Kunstfläche, verwandet den Times Square in ein kreatives Gesellschaftszentrum. Zusätzlich wird jeden Abend um Mitternacht eine Videoinstallation mit den Porträts auf Bildschirmen des Times Square präsentiert, die regulär für Werbung reserviert ist. JR thematisiert mit seinem Projekt nicht nur Kunst im öffentlichen Raum, sondern lenkt die Aufmerksamkeit auf das aktuelle, mannigfaltige, sich wie ein Kaleidoskop ausbreitende Gesellschaftsbild. Es gilt, mit wachem, offenem Auge die Seele der Gesellschaft zu betrachten.

With artist's signet, dated and numbered as well as with artist's signet in form of a blue roundstamp. - Verso very few, faint colour traces in middle, from printing, all in all very good and impeccably nice. Very superb, colour-fresh and isolated -intese impression of the large-format depiction, with margin, deckle edge at bottom. - One of 180 copies. - Printed by idem paris, with their embossed blindstamp. - In spring 2013, as part of the participatory art project 'Inside Out New York City', JR invites city residents and visitors to take self-portraits in a photo booth truck at Times Square, the location of the world's first photo booth fro almost 100 years ago. The photo posters are displayed in Duffy Square in Times Square, with almost 6,000 participants covering the ground with their faces. This was complemented by a huge billboard on 47th Street/7th Avenue featuring Inside Out portraits, with a very large eye above it as a poster. JR uses the city space as a huge art space, transforming Times Square into a creative social centre.
