Allah hat zwei Seiten. 1994. Mischtechnik auf Velin. 29,5 x 21 cm. Signiert, datiert und verso betitelt. Verso mit Zeichnung in Bleistift. In Passepartout freigestellt und mit sichtbarem Verso zwischen Glas gerahmt. - Technikbedingt leicht gewellt, an der oberen Kante mit kleinen Einrissen. Insgesamt sehr gut.

Zeitgenössische Kunst – Die vorliegende Zeichnung von Norbert Schwontkowski zeigt eine kleine Figurengruppe, in Bleistift auf Mischtechnik ausgeführt. Der zurückhaltende Strich und die sparsam gesetzten Flächen erzeugen eine leise Spannung zwischen Nähe und Unnahbarkeit. Durch die spezielle Rahmung, die auch das Verso einsehbar macht, wird das Werk als Objekt erfahrbar, indem Vorder- und Rückseite eine Einheit bilden, die im Zusammenspiel Prozesshaftigkeit offenlegt. Norbert Schwontkowski verstand Zeichnung nicht als Vorstufe, sondern als eigenständiges Medium, in dem sich seine melancholisch-hintergründige Bildwelt verdichtet. Figuren tauchen auf, ohne sich zu erklären, sie stehen für Haltungen, Stimmungen, manchmal auch für Abwesenheit.

Overall very good. - This drawing by Norbert Schwontkowski shows a small group of figures, executed in pencil on mixed media. The restrained stroke and the sparingly placed areas create a quiet tension between closeness and aloofness. The special framing, which also makes the verso visible, allows the work to be experienced as an object, with the front and back forming a unit that reveals the processual nature of the interplay. Norbert Schwontkowski did not see drawing as a preliminary stage, but as an independent medium in which his melancholic and enigmatic pictorial world is condensed. Figures appear without explaining themselves, they stand for attitudes, moods, sometimes also for absence.
