Spielende Mädchen. Um 1935. Aquarell und lavierte Tuschfederzeichnug auf chamoisfarbenem, grob gefasertem Velin. 30,5 x 43 cm. Signiert und betitelt unten rechts. In Punkten auf Unterlage montiert und unter Glas gerahmt. - Sehr vereinzelt m. wenigen zarten Anschmutzungen. Verso leichter Durchdruck der Tuschfeder. Insgesamt in gutem Zustand.

Expressionismus

Klassische Moderne – In lockerem, expressivem Stil zeigt Emil Maetzel eine Szene spielender Mädchen am Wasser. Die warme Farbpalette und die skizzenhafte Linienführung verleihen der Darstellung eine lebendige, fast kindlich naive Atmosphäre. Diese reduzierte, fast flüchtige Darstellungsweise ist typisch für Maetzels zeichnerisches Arbeiten, in welchem er oft Momentaufnahmen des Alltags mit schnellem Strich und formaler Vereinfachung festhält.

Spot-mounted to backing and framed under glass. - Very few minor smudges. Slight ink transfer on the reverse. Overall in well preserved condition. - In a vivid, expressive manner, Emil Maetzel depicts a scene of girls playing by the water. The warm colour palette and sketch-like linework create a lively, almost childlike atmosphere. This minimalist, fast-paced approach is typical of Maetzel's drawings, in which he often captures moments of everyday life with quick strokes and formal simplification.
