Peruanische Moderne – Ángel Chávez war eine Schlüsselfigur der peruanischen Kunst der Mitte des 20. Jahrhunderts, bekannt für seinen Übergang vom figurativen Realismus zur expressiven Abstraktion. Als Absolvent der Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes in Lima gehörte er zur einflussreichen "Generation von 1950". Seine Werke zeichnen sich durch lebendige Farben, dynamische Formen und die Erforschung der peruanischen Identität durch modernistische Techniken aus.

Multi-layered, expressive composition, partly built up from glazed layers. - Ángel Chávez was a key figure in mid-20th century Peruvian art, known for his transition from figurative realism to expressive abstraction. A graduate of the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes in Lima, he was part of the influential "Generation of 1950." His work is known for its vibrant color, dynamic form, and exploration of Peruvian identity through modernist techniques.
