Cobra – 4 colour lithographs. In: Tigres amoureux troisième série. Each on wove paper. Each signed, dated and numbered. Together with lithographed title page loosely inserted in original linen portfolio with closing bands. - Portfolio sporadically somewhat stained, the lithographs partially minimally bumped in the corners. Very good overall. Splendid and very colour-intense impressions of the depictions, each with margins. - Each one of 125 copies. - Corneille was one of the co-founders of the CoBrA artists' group. He lived and worked in Paris from 1950, but travelled abroad to Asia, Africa and America throughout his life. After a trip to Cuba in 1967, his pictorial language became much more symbolic, and the works in the 'Tigres Amoureux' portfolio also unite dynamic colours and playful forms to express the lively nature of his characteristic female and animal motifs.
