Grâces ténébreuses. 1959. Farblithographie auf Arches Velin (mit Wz.). 47 x 36,5 cm (65 x 50 cm). Signiert, datiert, betitelt und nummeriert. - Nur vereinzelt minimal fingerfleckig im Blattrand. Insgesamt sehr gut.
French Post War – Lithograph in colours on Arches wove paper (with watermark). Signed, dated, titled and numbered. - Only occasional minimal fingerstaining in sheet margins. In very well preserved condition. Splendid, atmospheric impression with full margins. - Webel 722 - One of 30 copies. - Dubuffet's artistic work includes the development of the concept of Art Brut, a deliberately anti-intellectual art movement that represented a turn towards naivety and infantility. He was inspired by the direct access of mentally challenged people to art. Dubuffet's resulting artistic language was characterised by simplified figuration and perspective - as well as a great enthusiasm for experimenting with the printing techniques of lithography and woodcut, which can also be seen impressively in our work.
