Christopher Czwiklitzer, Paris 1967.

Zadkine, known for his sculptural works in the style of Cubism and Expressionism, translates his plastic formal language into ten original etchings that accompany Apollinaire's typographically designed calligrams. Zadkine's artistic practice, which constantly moves between materiality, movement and expression, expands Apollinaire's poetic space with an independent visual dimension. This creates an intense interplay between word and line, between literary experiment and visual imagination.
