o.T. (it rains in my TV, as it rains in my HEART). 1972/74. Collage. Leicht genarbtes Velin zerissen und mit drei Tackernadeln auf schwarzes Velin collagiert. Mit feiner Bleistiftzeichnung, in dieser bezeichnet: "it rains in my TV as it rains in my HEART (Paul VERLAINE)". 51 x 67,2 cm. Unten rechts signiert in Bleistift. In Punkten auf Unterlage montiert und unter Glas gerahmt. - Mit leichter Oberflächenanschmutzung, die Ecken leicht bestoßen, vermutl. werkimmanent punktuell minimal knickspurig. Insgesamt sehr gut. In spannungsvoller Materialüberlagerung gearbeitete Komposition.

Fluxus – Kat. Nam June Paik, Düsseldorf 2010. SW-Abb. Nr. 32, S. 232. - In der Verknüpfung von Textfragmenten und Bildausschnitten offenbart sich Paiks medienkritischer Blick, der Fernsehen nicht nur als technologisches, sondern auch als zutiefst psychologisches Phänomen begreift. Der an Paul Verlaines angelehnte Vers "Il pleure dans mon coeur comme il pleur sur la ville" evoziert eine subtile Verbindung zwischen subjektiver Gefühlserfahrung und der durch das Massenmedium strukturierten Wirklichkeitswahrnehmung.

With a fine pencil drawing, inscribed: 'it rains in my TV as it rains in my HEART (Paul VERLAINE)'. Signed in pencil in the lower right. Spot-mounted on backing and framed under glass. - With slight surface soiling, the corners slightly bumped, minimal creases presumably inherent to the work. Very good overall. Composition characterised by an expressing layering of materials. - Cat. Nam June Paik, Düsseldorf 2010, b/w illus. no. 32, p. 232 - The combination of text fragments and image excerpts reveals Paik's media-critical perspective, which understands television not only as a technological but also as a deeply psychological phenomenon. The verse 'Il pleure dans mon coeur comme il pleur sur la ville', inspired by Paul Verlaine, evokes a subtle connection between subjective emotional experience and the perception of reality structured by the mass medium.
