Deutsche Nachkriegsmoderne – Provenienz: Aus dem Nachlass des Künstlers. - In seiner Malerei verwebt Mac Zimmermann Irrationales und Mystisches zu phantastischen Bildräumen, die fernab der äußeren Realität liegen. Seine oft unbestimmbaren Tiefenräume sind von unendlicher Weite geprägt und wirken trotz der Präsenz der Figuren karg und eigenartig unbelebt. Das vorliegende Werk aus seinem Spätwerk zeigt zwei Figuren vor einer felsartigen Formation. Sie heben einzelne Bruchstücke dieses mineralisch wirkenden Gesteins empor, eine Geste, welche Mensch und Erde miteinander verbindet. Im Hintergrund zeichnen sich zwei weitere Figuren ab, deren fast tänzerische Haltung der Szenerie eine leise Dynamik verleiht. Der Ort bleibt unbestimmt, ein Zwischenraum, der zwischen Gegenwart und Traum, Werden und Vergehen schwebt. Die "Neuen Menschen" erscheinen nicht als feste Gestalten, sondern als Zustände, in denen Transformation und Verwurzelung zugleich spürbar werden.

Dreamlike composition in delicate tones. - Provenance: From the artist's estate. - From the artist's late wor koriginates the present piece, in which two figures appear before a rock-like formation and lift fragments of this mineral-like formation-a gesture that seems to symbolise a connection between humanity and the earth. In the background, two additional figures emerge, their almost dance-like posture adding a subtle vibrancy to the scene. The location remains undefined, an intermediate space that hovers between the present and dreams, becoming and passing away.
