o.T. (Streifenkomposition). 1970. Bleistift auf kariertem Papier. 21 x 29,5 cm. Monogrammiert und datiert. In Punkten freistehend in Passepartout montiert. - In den oberen Ecken mit kleinen Einstichlöchlein, etwas griffspurig, punktuell mit leichten Verfärbungen. Insgesamt gut. Reduzierte und doch ausgesprochen kraftvolle Komposition.

Minimalismus

Deutsche Nachkriegsmoderne – Ulrich Rückriems überwiegend plastische Arbeiten zeichnen sich durch einen konsequent materialbezogenen und konzeptuellen Ansatz aus. Dieses auf klaren Regeln basierende, systematische Vorgehen erarbeitete sich der Künstler seit den späten 1960er Jahren. Seine Nähe zur Minimal Art ebenso wie sein Interesse an handwerklicher Präzision wird auch mit einem Blick auf sein zeichnerisches Werk deutlich. Mit kräftigen, komprimierten Linien strukturiert Rückriem den Bildraum und lässt die Zeichnung den skulpturalen Denkprozess sichtbar werden. Sie bildet so eine gedankliche Parallelspur zum plastischen Werk.

Overall in well preserved condition. Reduced yet exceptionally powerful composition. - Ulrich Rückriem's mostly sculptural works are characterized by a consistently material-oriented and conceptual approach. The artist developed this systematic approach, based on strict principles, in the late 1960s. His affinity for minimal art and his interest in technical precision are also evident in his drawings. Rückriem structures the pictorial space with strong, compressed lines, allowing the drawing to reveal the sculptural thought process. It thus forms a conceptual parallel to his sculptural work.
