Online - Modern and Contemporary Art – Screenprint on wove paper. Numbered on verso. - Paper slightly wavy. Overall very good with excellent, high-contrast impression. - With this work, Andreas Slominski transfers his conceptual practice to the medium of printmaking. Known for his subversive installations and trap objects, Slominski uses a supposedly traditional technique here to ironically and precisely explore the boundaries between visual humour, everyday observation and social criticism. The windmill, historically a symbol of rural idyll and the technical taming of nature, is transformed into a state of disintegration by the fire. However, there is no pathos in this destruction, but rather a calculated refraction of iconographic expectations, which also characterise his trap objects or site-specific interventions.
