Overall very good. - Brigitte Dümling's 1989 work on paper impressively demonstrates the combination of gestural openness and structural concentration that is typical of her work. Themes such as transformation, movement and stillness form central coordinates of her artistic thinking and find poetic expression in the finely balanced pictorial structure. In this work, wax crayon and paper engage in a multi-layered dialogue in which lines, colour settings and empty spaces overlap in a lively sequence.
