Mode

Moderne Literatur und Kunst – Gehringer & Glupp war eins von vier großen Modehäusern, die 1950 am Kurfürstendamm eröffneten. - Enthält Skizzen vorwiegend für Mäntel und Kleider. - Meist mit hs. Vermerk zum Namen des Auftraggebers (Albers, Engel, Maeding, Mucha, Pefestorff, Schlenker, Strebe, Zick etc.), der Modellbezeichnung bzw. Hinweis zum anstehenden Anlass (Berliner Nebel, Kleine Liebelei, Ball im Esplanade, Silvesterparty Carmina, A la Carte, Paris Soir, Miss St. Moritz, Roadster, Biennale, Wimbledon etc.) sowie Angaben zu den benötigten Materialien (Wolle, Seide, Jersey, Taft, Ripsband usw.). - Tls. etw. fleckig, knitterig u. mit Läsuren, insg. wohlerhalten.

Modern Literature and Art – Fashion - Collection of over 450 drawings by the Berlin fashion house Gehriger & Glopp. Berlin, (late) 1950s. Each approx. 30 x 10.5 cm. Each mounted at the upper edge in three lined notebooks of the time with a D-label (slightly rubbed, canvas slightly soiled). 19 additional drawings (approx. 30 x 19 cm) with fabric samples and some with the fashion house's stamp on the reverse are enclosed loosely. - Gehringer & Glupp was one of four major fashion houses that opened on Kurfürstendamm in 1950. - Contains sketches primarily for coats and dresses. - Mostly with handwritten notes on the client's name (Albers, Engel, Maeding, Mucha, Pefestorff, Schlenker, Strebe, Zick, etc.), the model name, or a reference to the upcoming event, as well as information on the required materials (wool, silk, jersey, taffeta, grosgrain ribbon, etc.). - Somewhat stained, creased, and with marginal tears, overall good condition.
