Expressionismus

- Dabei: Hellweg. Wochenschrift für Deutsche Kunst. 4. Jahrgang, Heft 18. 1924. OBroschur. - Mit Holzschnitten von Fritz Fuhrken.

Modern Literature and Art – The Rock. One-sheet prints 1st series and further prints by the artist group. With 12 sign. Woodcuts and 5 sign. Original lithographs. Sheet dimensions 33 x 24.5 cm (lithographs) and 22 x 17 cm to 31 x 22 cm (woodcuts). Loosely inserted in Paper wrapper, 1st set in original Wrappers (browned and with losses, cover detached, significant tears). - Rare. - The 1st set of one of 200 numbered copies. - With prints by Georg Philipp Wörlen, Reinhard Hilker, Fritz Fuhrken, Franz Bronstert and Carry Hauser. Each work signed, dated and titled in graphite. - The group founded by the above-mentioned artists probably existed from 1920 to 1927 and published eight graphic folios during this time. - "Expression is everything to them, the rock people. Many hammer blows form a whole. There are also blows that miss. But they remain unperturbed, unperturbed by their nagging desire to diminish. That gives them the right to call their community "rock". And one more thing. Europe is experiencing one of its greatest disasters. A lot is going over its head, yesterday, today - tomorrow? - But the rock will stand." (printer's mark of the 1st set) - Contains an overview of the portfolio works and single sheets from the Fels publishing house. - Wood engravings foxed and with marginal foxing, lithographs only slight marginal foxing.- Including: Hellweg. Weekly magazine for German art. 4th year, issue 18. Original Softcover. - With woodcuts by Fritz Fuhrken.
