Modern Literature and Art – Nos. 1-7, 9, 11, 13-14, 16, 18-52 and a special issue. (46 in 45 issues). With original lithographs by Max Liebermann, Ernst Barlach, August Gaul, Max Oppenheimer, Otto Hettner and others. Paper (with edge wear and tears). - With the special issue by Oppenheimer. The journal "Kriegszeit-Künstlerflugblätter" founded in Berlin in 1914 by the art dealer and publisher Paul Cassirer and Alfred Gold. It published original lithographs made especially for these magazines by artists, most of whom were members of the Berlin Secession and were close to German Impressionism. The tone of the lithographs was initially nationalistic and supportive of the war, sometimes with a chauvinistic undertone. However, this was soon followed by disillusionment, which was accompanied by a change in the motifs and led to lithographs with a critical undertone. - The "Kriegszeit" was continued until the end of March 1916 (partly in double issues) and then finally discontinued by the publisher. - Foxing, paper browned, in good overall condition.
