Er studierte an der Akademie der Künste in Prag und an der École des Beaux Arts in Paris. Während des Zweiten Weltkriegs war er in der zionistischen Untergrundbewegung in Budapest aktiv. - Papierbedingt gleichmäßig gebräunt. Insgesamt sauberes u. wohlerhaltenes Exemplar mit expressiven Linolschnittillustrationen.

Ill. orig. paperback in orig. wrapper (somewhat stained and creased, wrapper with backed tear). - One of the earliest books about the Hungarian Holocaust. Published by Hechaluc (Hehalutz), the Zionist resistance movement whose legendary headquarters was in the Üvegház (Glass House) in Budapest, a former glass shop. - Shraga Weil a Hungarian-born Israeli painter. He studied at the Academy of Arts in Prague and at the École des Beaux Arts in Paris. He was active in the underground Zionist movement in Budapest during World War II. - Paper evenly browned. Overall a clean and well preserved copy with expressive linocut illustrations.
