Moderne Literatur und Kunst – Eins von 1500 Exemplaren. - Ein seltenes tschechisches Nachschlagewerk über moderne Gartengestaltung mit dem von Sutnar gestalteten Einband, der Frank Lloyd Wrights Fallingwater zeigt. - Otokar Fierlinger (1888-1941) war ein tschechischer Architekt, Landschaftsplaner und Stadtplaner. Während eines Praktikums in den USA in den frühen 1920er Jahren lernte er die Werke von Frank Lloyd Wright kennen und begann nach seiner Rückkehr in die Tschechoslowakei als Autor mehrerer Bücher zu diesem Thema mit der Förderung der englischen und amerikanischen Landschaftsschule. Zahrada a obydlí ist eines dieser Werke, das mit zahlreichen Fotos von Gartengestaltungen aus allen Jahrhunderten illustriert ist. Das Titelblatt ist mit einem Foto von Frank Lloyd Wrights beeindruckendem Bauwerk Fallingwater illustriert. Das gesamte Buch wurde von Ladislav Sutnar (1897-1976) gestaltet, dem tschechisch-amerikanischen Avantgarde-Grafikdesigner und Pionier des Informationsdesigns und der Informationsarchitektur. - Die Seiten sind nicht geheftet, wie es für tschechische Bücher dieser Zeit üblich ist. Ränder leicht griffspurig. Guter Zustand.

While completing an internship in the US in the early 1920s he got acquainted with the works of Frank Lloyd Wright, and upon his return to Czechoslovakia as an author of several books on the topic began promoting the English and American Landscape Schools. Zahrada a obydlí is one of such works, illustrated with numerous photographs of garden designs throughout the centuries. The front cover is illustrated with a photo of Frank Lloyd Wright's stunning building, the Fallingwater. The entire book was designed by Ladislav Sutnar (1897-1976), the Czech-American avant-garde graphic designer, a pioneer of information design, and information architecture. - Pages are unstapled as is customary for Czech books of the era. Edges slightly rubbed. Good condition.
