Paris, A l'image des trois colombes, 1926. 4°. Dunkelbrauner Maroquin mit goldgepr. RTitel, DFileten, polychromen floralen Intarsien auf Deckeln, Stehkantenvergoldung, dreis. Goldschnitt, polychrome florale Innenspiegel, doppelte Vorsätze aus Moirée-Seide und Marmorpapier (vereinzelt unscheinbar berieben). In gefüttertem HMaroquin-Schuber. Signiert: Max Fonsèque.

Moderne Literatur und Kunst – Eines von 10 nummerierten Exemplaren der Vorzugsausgabe auf Japan (GA 271). - Monod 10117. Fléty 72. - Das Aquarell zeigt ein Titelblatt mit dem hübschen Gesicht von Hyalis, dem kleinen blauäugigen Faun. Enthält die Radierungen sowie je eine Suite in Rötel, Schwarz und Dekomposition. Die Suite in Schwarz im Druckvermerk nicht angekündigt. - Der Buchbinder Max Fonsèque (1891 - ca. 1965) studierte an der École Estienne, bevor er als junger Kunsthandwerker zu Lortic kam. Er zog 1920 nach Monaco und 1925 nach Paris. Das Werk stellt eine der schönsten Illustrationen von Sylvain Sauvage aus der Zeit des Art Déco dar. - Vereinzelt mit blassen Stockflecken. Sehr dekoratives Exemplar in meisterhaftem Einband.
Modern Literature and Art – With a signed original watercolour, 25 original colour etchings, a discarded plate and three suites. Dark brown marocco with gilt spine title, gilt cover fillets, polychrome floral inlays on covers, gilt edges, polychrome floral inner boards, double endpapers of moirée silk and marbled paper (isolated inconspicuous rubbing). In lined half morocco slipcase. Signed: Max Fonsèque. - One of 10 numbered copies of the special edition on Japan (total ed. 271). - The watercolour shows a title page with the handsome face of Hyalis, the little blue-eyed faun. Contains the etchings as well as one suite each in red chalk, black and decomposition. The suite in black not announced in the printer's note. - The bookbinder Max Fonsèque (1891 - ca. 1965) studied at the École Estienne before joining Lortic as a young craftsman. He moved to Monaco in 1920 and to Paris in 1925. This work is one of Sylvain Sauvage's most beautiful illustrations from the Art Deco period. - With occasional pale foxing. Very decorative copy in masterly binding.
