Nationalsozialismus - Antifaschistische Karikatur

Geschichtswissenschaften – Sándor Ék alias Alex Keil (1902-1975) war ein ungarischer Grafiker, der vor allem für seine kommunistischen Propagandaposter und Cartoons bekannt ist. In den frühen 1920er Jahren verbrachte Ék einige Monate in Russland, wo er bei El Lissitzky studierte. Zwischen 1925 und 1933 lebte er in Deutschland und arbeitete als Illustrator für die "Arbeiter Illustrierte Zeitung" und die offizielle Zeitung der Kommunistischen Partei Deutschlands, "Die Rote Fahne". Bekanntheit erlangte er durch seine antifaschistischen und kommunistischen Plakate und Karikaturen, die mit den Werken von John Heartfied verglichen werden können.

Verso with traces of mounting. Sándor Ék alias Alex Keil (1902-1975) was a Hungarian graphic artist who is mostly known for his communist propaganda posters and cartoons. Ék spent some months in Russia in the early 1920s where he studied under El Lissitzky. Between 1925 and 1933 he lived in Germany and worked as an illustrator for the "Arbeiter Illustrierte Zeitung" and the official newspaper of the Communist Party of Germany, "Die Rote Fahne". He gained reputation with his anti-fascist and communist posters and cartoons that could be compared to the works of John Heartfied.
