Geschichtswissenschaften – Mit Exlibris der Bibliotheca Hirschbergiana. - Die "Discorsi" sind das literarische Hauptwerk des Politikers und Philosophen N. di Bernardo dei Machiavelli (1469-1527), in dem er seine Gedanken zur Politik, zum Krieg und zur politischen Führung zusammenfasst. Er schrieb die "Discorsi" 1513-1517 auf seinem Landgut, nachdem er von den Medici aus Florenz verbannt worden war. Sie erschienen erst 1531, wurden auf dem Konzil zu Trient auf den Index gesetzt und galten als "Teufelswerk". - Etw. gebräunt und fleckig, vorderer fliegender Vorsatz mit hs. Anmerkungen. Einbände bestoßen, Bezug an den Kanten abgeschabt. -

History – With ex libris of the Bibliotheca Hirschbergiana. - The "Discorsi" are the main literary work of the politician and philosopher N. di Bernardo dei Machiavelli (1469-1527), in which he summarizes his thoughts on politics, war, and political leadership. He wrote the "Discorsi" between 1513 and 1517 on his estate after being banished from Florence by the Medici. They were not published until 1531, were placed on the Index at the Council of Trent, and were considered "the work of the devil." - Somewhat browned and stained, front flyleaf with handwritten notes. Binding bumped, cover scraped at the edges.
