Geschichtswissenschaften – Inklusive "Kurzer Erklärung der im moralisch-politischen Kurier enthaltenen Allegorien und Thatsachen". - Anton Balthasar Dunker (1746-1807) kam im Jahr 1773 nach Bern, wo er sich als Landschaftsmaler und Radierer etablierte. Unter seinen Werken waren jedoch auch eine Reihe von Exlibris und Darstellungen politischer Ereignisse. Seine Fähigkeiten als Buch Illustrator wurden vor allem geschätzt, zum Beispiel in "Les Nouvelles de Marguerite de Valois (L'Heptaméron des nouvelles)". Ab 1798 publizierte Dunker seine eigenen Werke, darunter auch der Moralisch-Politische Kurier, in dem er die politischen Geschehnisse zwischen 1797 und 1798 festhielt. - Tls. minimal fleckig. Prachtvolle Kupferstiche, insgesamt gut erhalten.
History – With 28 loose plates.Loose in a modern leather case with gold-stamped title. - Includes "Brief explanation of the allegories and facts contained in the moral-political courier." - Anton Balthasar Dunker (1746-1807) came to Bern in 1773, where he established himself as a landscape painter and engraver. However, his works also included a series of bookplates and depictions of political events. His skills as a book illustrator were particularly appreciated, for example in "Les Nouvelles de Marguerite de Valois (L'Heptaméron des nouvelles)". From 1798 onwards, Dunker published his own works, including the Moralisch-Politischer Kurier, in which he recorded the political events between 1797 and 1798. - Some minimal staining. Magnificent copper engravings, overall in good condition.
