Jahrhunderts – Enthält zwei Berichte des Hofraths Dr. Clarus über die Zurechnungsfähigkeit des Mörders Woyzeck. - Die seit dem Jahr 1821 von Adolph Henke herausgegeben Zeitschrift für die Staatsarzneikunde erschien bis in das Jahr 1846 in insgesamt 46 Bänden und 32 Ergänzungsheften. Das vierte Ergänzungsheft aus dem Jahr 1825 enthält die überarbeitete Version des 1824 erstmals erschienen Berichts über die Zurechnungsfähigkeit von Johann Christian Woyzeck, der 1821 Johanna Christiane Woost ermordete. Der Hofrath und Medizinprofessor Dr. Johann Christian August Clarus erstellte mehrere Gutachten zu dem Verfassungszustand des Mörders, von dem ein Weiteres im fünften Ergänzungsheft der Zeitschrift erschienen ist. Potentiell waren diese Gutachten Georg Büchner bekannt, als er mit seinem Werk Woyzeck begann, da sein Vater Ernst Büchner selbst in der Zeitschrift für Arzneikunde publizierte. - Die Ergänzungshefte enthalten weitere Darstellung von medizinisch relevanten Kriminalprozessen, sowie die damals aktuellen Fortschritte in der Arzenikunde oder auch Abhandlungen zur Verhütung epidemischer Krankheiten. - Stockfleckig, insgesamt sehr gut erhaltene Exemplare.

Cardboard with handwritten spine label (bumped). - Includes two reports by Hofrath Dr. Clarus on the sanity of the murderer Woyzeck. - The Zeitschrift für die Staatsarzneikunde, published by Adolph Henke from 1821 until 1846, appeared in a total of 46 volumes and 32 supplementary issues. The fourth supplement from 1825 contains the revised version of the report first published in 1824 on the sanity of Johann Christian Woyzeck. He had murdered Johanna Christiane Woost in 1821. The Hofrath and professor of medicine Dr. Johann Christian August Clarus prepared several expert reports on the murderer's state of mind, another of which appeared in the fifth supplementary issue of the journal. Georg Büchner was potentially aware of these very expert opinions when he began his work Woyzeck, as his father Ernst Büchner himself published in the Zeitschrift für Arzneikunde. - The supplementary issues contain further accounts of medically relevant criminal trials, as well as the latest advances in pharmacology at the time and treatises on the prevention of epidemic diseases. - Foxing, overall very well-preserved copies.
