- Vgl. R. Esmerian, Tableaux synoptiques, Annexe A, VII. Hobson, Les Reliures à la Fanfare XXII b.

Literature of 17th to 19th Century – With 4 copper plates. Paris, Antoine Dezallier 1701. 653 p. 3 p. 8°. Wine-red maroquin binding "à la fanfare" with richest spine and cover gilding, edge and inner edge gilding and gilt edges (capital and foot inconspicuously restored, only slightly rubbed). - With exlibris by L. Froissart. - Cf. R. Esmerian, Tableaux synoptiques, Annexe A, VII Hobson, Les Reliures à la Fanfare XXII b. - Splendid French fan binding (Relieure à la fanfare) with curved and straight scrollwork with enclosed ornamentation. - The binding was probably made by the Parisian bookbinding studio "L'Atelier des Caumartin", of which 15 bindings with identical stamps for Louis XIV are known. The unidentified workshop, active from 1652 to 1701, was described by Raphaël Esmerian as the "Atelier des Caumartin". The workshop produced several bindings for the family of Louis-Urbain Lefèvre Caumartin from 1653 to 1701. - Foxing, margins slightly browned, overall in very good condition.
