(sign. Facconi, Parma) mit gold- und blindgepr. Vign. auf beiden Decken unter Verwendung eines gekrönten Lilien-Wappens des Hauses Bourbon, sowie reicher Deckel- u. Rückenvergoldung, Steh- u. Innenkantenfileten, diese an den Ecken mit Lilien geschmückt, Vorsätzen aus marmor. Seidenpapier u. dreiseit. Goldschnitt (Rücken gebleicht, an den Ecken und Kanten gering berieben).

Clerici, "Intorno a otto lettere inedite di Carlo Botta a Vincenzo Mistrali". In: Il Risorgimento Italiano, Jg. II (1909), S. 600ff. - Von großer Seltenheit, sowohl im Handel, als auch in institutionellen Beständen. Für uns nur 5 weitere Exemplare nachweisbar, wovon 1 außerhalb Italiens. - Posthum erschiene, von Mistralis Sohn Emilio hg. Auswahlausgabe von Oden, welcher auch eine umfangreiche Biographie des Verfassers vorangestellt ist. Der Politiker und Autor Vincenzio Mistrali (1780-1846) fungierte u.a. als Finanzminister von Marie-Louise von Österreich, Herzogin von Parma von 1814-47. Zu Lebzeiten veröffentlichte Mistrali eine Ode an den Typographen Bodoni und einen ersten Band mit Oden (beides 1809). - Provenienz: Prachtvoller Maroquin-Band, am Schwanz des Rückens signiert "Facconi - Parma". Die heraldische Supralibro auf den Deckeln lässt darauf schließen, dass das derart luxuriös gebundene Exemplar für ein Mitglied Hauses Bourbon-Parma gedacht war. Das Herzogtum Parma selbst war 1860 vom späteren Königreich Italien annektiert worden. Die Oden sind dem Parmenser Zweig des Adelsgeschlechts der Sanvitale gewidmet, deren Mitglieder mit dem Hof des Herzogs von Parma eng verbunden waren. - Papier gering gebräunt, sonst sehr sauberes Exemplar dieses unikalen Exemplars der sehr seltenen Ausgabe.

Literature of 17th to 19th Century – First and only edition, in a luxurious binding probably for a member of the House of Bourbon-Parma. - Of great rarity, both in the trade and in institutional collections alike. Only 5 other copies traceable to us, of which 1 outside Italy (British Library). - A posthumous edition of selected odes published by Mistrali's son Emilio, preceded by an extensive biography of the author. The politician and author Vincenzio Mistrali (1780-1846) served, among other things, as finance minister to Marie-Louise of Austria, Duchess of Parma from 1814-47. During his lifetime, Mistrali published an ode to the typographer Bodoni and a first volume of odes (both 1809). - Provenance: Splendid master binding, with gilt embossed signature 'Facconi - Parma' at the tail of the spine. The heraldic supralibro on the covers suggests that this copy was intended for a member of the House of Bourbon-Parma. The Duchy of Parma itself was annexed by the later Kingdom of Italy in 1860. The odes are dedicated to the Parma branch of the noble Sanvitale family, whose members were closely connected to the court of the Duke of Parma. - Paper slightly time-stained, otherwise very clean, due to binding unique copy of this very rare edition.
