Das Stundenbuch wurde von den Buchmalern der Gent-Brügger Schule für die Königin Isabella I. von Kastilien hergestellt wurde. Auf den ersten Seiten des Buches befindet sich das Wappen der Königin und ihres Mannes. Isabella von Kastilien war eine große Bewunderin dern flämischen Buchkunst. Das Stundenbuch gehört heute zu den wichtigsten Objekten der Mittelaltersammlung des Cleveland Museum of Art und ist eines der besten Beispiele der Gent-Brügger Schule. - Tadelloser Zustand.

(facs. and comm.) 40 full-page and 10 half-page miniatures, 24 calendar medallions and more than 300 marginal decorations. Red velvet binding with mounted coat-of-arms vignette and marbled edges in gilt-stamped leather cassette cloth and original canvas with gilt-stamped spine title. (Comm.) - True to original facsimile edition of the manuscript MS 1963.256 from the Cleveland Museum of Art. The Book of Hours was produced by the illuminators of the Ghent-Bruges School for Queen Isabella I of Castile. On the first pages of the book is the coat of arms of the queen and her husband. Isabella of Castile was a great admirer of Flemish book art. Today, the Book of Hours is one of the most important objects in the Cleveland Museum of Art's medieval collection and is one of the best examples of the Ghent-Bruges School. - Impeccable Condition.
