Alte Künstlergraphik – Provenienz: Privatsammlung, Süddeutschland. - Verso datiert mit 8ten Juni 1834. - Johann Adam Kleins Faszination mit militärischen Uniformen zeigt sich in der hier dargestellten Szene. Er beschäftigte sich bereits während seines Studiums mit den Uniformen verschiedener Truppen und zeigt, wie in so vielen seiner Graphiken und Aquarelle, sein Auge für Details. Trotz des kleinen Formats des Aquarell arbeitet Klein jedes Detail der farbprächtugen Uniformen heraus. Die Szene zeigt drei Soldaten und einen Bauern, dessen Kalb wohl von zwei Soldaten gestohlen und versteckt wurde. - Insgesamt sehr gut erhaltenes Aquarell in kräftigem, deckenden Kolorit.

Mounted and framed under glass. - Provenance: Private collection, Southern Germany. - Dated June 8, 1834 on the reverse. - Johann Adam Klein's fascination with military uniforms is evident in the scene depicted here. He studied the uniforms of various troops during his studies and, as in so many of his prints and watercolors, demonstrates his eye for detail. Despite the small format of the watercolor, Klein captures every detail of the vibrantly colored uniforms. The scene shows three soldiers and a farmer whose calf was apparently stolen and hidden by two soldiers. - Overall, a very well-preserved watercolor with strong, opaque colors.
