Alte Künstlergraphik – Nicht bei Heller-Andresen. - Gezeigt wird das Denkmal des Dichters und Staatsmannes Salomon Gessner im barocken Platzspitzpark in Zürich mit Figurenstaffage. Der Stich nach einer Zeichnung von Johann Heinrich Wüest entstand kurz nach seiner Ankunft in Rom (AKL Sauer, S. 274). - Mit vertikaler, geglätteter Mittelfalz, blass braunfleckig (im oberen Motiv etw. stärker), im unteren Rand mit zwei fachmännisch hinterlegten Defekten, Papier verso partiell etw. berieben sowie ausgedünnt. Insgesamt gut. Kräftiger, nuancierter Druck.

Old Master Prints – Original copper engraving. Inscribed "W. F. sculps." and "H Wüest pinx." and titled in the print. Spot-mounted to light card. - Depicted is the monument to the poet and statesman Salomon Gessner in the baroque Platzspitzpark in Zurich with a staffage of figures. The engraving after a drawing by Johann Heinrich Wüest was made shortly after his arrival in Rome (AKL Sauer, p. 274). - With vertical, smoothed centerfold, pale brown stains (somewhat stronger in the upper motif), two professionally backed defects in the lower margin, paper verso partially somewhat rubbed and thinned. Overall good. Strong, nuanced impression.
