Stammbuch des Friedrich Giesse mit 54 Einträgen. Meist Weilburg, 1825-1838. Lose Blätter mit Goldschnitt. Je ca. 8,3 x 13,5 cm. In Pp.-Kassette d. Zt. mit mont. Deckelschild "Der Freundschaft gewidmet" u. Rückenschild "F. Giesse" im Pp.-Schuber d. Zt. (berieben).

Liber amicorum - Hessen

Manuskripte und Urkunden – Friedrich Giesse (1814-1866) war der Sohn des Pfarrers, Dekan und Abgeordneten Hans Wilhelm Julius Eberhard Georg Giesse (1790-1839) u. dessen Gattin Philippine Henriette Elisabeth geb. Creutz (1791-1877). Sein Großvater war der bekannte Abgeordnete Dr. h.c. Friedrich Gieße (1760-1842), dieser war u.a. Mitbegründer der Nassauischen Union und Ehrendoktor der Uni Marburg. Friedrich Giesse besuchte das Gymnasium in Weilburg und ging als Student der Rechte an die Universität in Heidelberg. Später war u.a. Amtssekretär u. zuletzt Landesoberschultheißverwalter. - Das Album mit Einträgen vorwiegend aus der Zeit am Weilburger Gymnasium, einige aus Heidelberg, Dillenburg u. Hadamar, u.a. von: Conrad Friedrich Anthes (1812-1874), Carl Bertrand (1816-1895, Arzt), Ernst August Friedrich Hans Freiherr Marschall von Bieberstein (1816-1860, Jurist), Johann Friedrich Carl Bittel (1813-1860), Eduard Carl Braun (1813-1862, Mediziner), Adolph Carl Georg Ludwig Genth (1813-1888, Dr. med.), Franz Anton Horstmann (1816-1887, Ingenieur u. Fabrikbesitzer), August Theodor Kirchbaum (1816-1885, Pfarrer), Egmont Lucius (1814-1884, Politiker im Herzogthum Braunschweig), Georg Pingler (1815-1892, Begründer des nassauischen Kurwesens, Leibarzt Herzog Adolphs von Nassau), Johann Heinrich Karl Rossel (1815-1872, Historiker, Lehrer, Kommunalpolitiker), Karl Adolf Rössler (1814-1885, Jurist, Maler, Schmetterlingsforscher), Friedrich Gottlieb Schulz (1813-1867, Lehrer, Mitgl. d. Frankfurter Nationalversammlung), Albert Spiritus (1813-1892, Pfarrer). - Einige Bll. mit doppelseitigen Einträgen. - Papierbedingt gebräunt u. tls. gering fleckig, sonst gut erhalten.

Manuscripts – Hesse - Liber amicorum of Friedrich Giesse's with 54 entries. Loose leaves with gilt edges in contemp. cardboard box with mounted cover and spine label in cardboard slipcase (rubbed). - Friedrich Giesse (1814-1866) was the son of the pastor, dean and deputy Hans Wilhelm Julius Eberhard Georg Giesse (1790-1839) and his wife Philippine Henriette Elisabeth née Creutz (1791-1877). His grandfather was the well-known member of parliament Dr h.c. Friedrich Giesse (1760-1842), who was a co-founder of the Nassau Union and an honorary doctor of the University of Marburg. Friedrich Giesse attended grammar school in Weilburg and went to the University of Heidelberg as a law student. Later he was, among other things, an official secretary and finally a state superintendent of schools. - The album with entries mainly from the time at Weilburg grammar school, some from Heidelberg, Dillenburg and Hadamar, among others as listed above. - Browned due to paper, some minor occ. staining, otherweise well preserved.
