Amerika - Niagarafälle

Dekorative Graphik - Ansichten – Die touristische Erschließung der Niagarafälle setzte im 19. Jahrhundert ein und machte das Naturspektakel schnell zu einem der beliebtesten Reiseziele Nordamerikas. Mit der zunehmenden Mobilität des späten 19. Jahrhunderts - begünstigt durch Eisenbahn und Automobil - wurde der Ort auch zu einem bedeutenden Motiv visueller Kultur. In Photographien, Gemälden und Druckgraphiken fungierten die Fälle bald als romantisierte Projektionsfläche für Vorstellungen von unberührter Natur. In inszenierten Reiseportäts bildeten sie eine imposante Kulisse, vor der sich das moderne Individuum als naturverbundener, zugleich zivilisierter Teil der Gesellschaft darstellen konnte. - Leinwand doubliert, mit leichter Oberflächenanschmutzung bzw. etw. gegilbt, mit punktueller Oberflächenbereibung, überwiegend im Randbereich mit etw. Krakelee und partiellen Farbabplatzungen. Insgesamt gut.

Framed. - Tourism at Niagara Falls began in the 19th century, quickly turning the natural spectacle into one of North America's most popular travel destinations. With the rise of mobility through railways and automobiles, the Falls also became a key subject in visual culture. Photographs, paintings, and prints portrayed them as a romantic symbol of untouched nature, offering a dramatic backdrop for travel portraits that presented the modern individual as both connected to nature and part of a civilized society. - Canvas doubled, with slight surface soiling and some yellowing, with isolated surface abrasions, mainly in the margins, with some craquelure and partial paint flaking. Overall in good condition.
