Photographie - Photographen – Aus dem Photonachlass des Kapitäns Hermann und seiner Familie. Hermann war ab 1903 Kasernen- und Lazarettinspektor in Tsingtau, ab 1909 Garnisonsverwaltungsinspektor und 1914 Kriegsgefangener im japanischen Lager Kurume. - Die verso hs. bezeichneten Aufnahmen zeigen: Ausspann Heinzel mit Kutsche in Lauschan, Blindgänger vom englischen Kriegsschiff Triumph im Haus Käsemann, dt. Artilleriestellung auf der Walderseehöhe, Haus Ahrens, brennender Öltank, zerstörtes Haus am Hohenlohweg, Restaurant und Ausspann Litsun, japanisches Grabmal, Gräber gefallener Engländer, zerstörte Wohnhäuser am Wasserwerk Litsun, Maschinen und Kesselhaus im Wasserwerk Litsun, deutsche Geschützattrappe am Moltkeberg, japanisches Grabmal auf der Walderseehöhe, Batterie Stecher Fuchsweg, Batterie Iltisberg, japanische Geschützstellung. - In den Rändern tls. minimal ausgesilbert u. vereinzelt mit winzigen Schichtschaden, sonst insg. gut erhalten.

Photography – Collection of 19 orig. photographs from Tsingtau during the Japanese and British siege in 1914. Vintages. Silver gelatin prints. - From the photographic estate of Captain Hermann and his family. From 1903, Hermann was barracks and military hospital inspector in Tsingtau, from 1909 garrison administration inspector and in 1914 prisoner of war in the Japanese camp at Kurume. - The photographs, inscribed on the verso, show: Heinzel's inn with carriage in Lauschan, unexploded bomb from the English warship Triumph in the Käsemann house, German artillery position on the Walderseehöhe, Ahrens house, burning oil tank, destroyed house on Hohenlohweg, Litsun restaurant and inn, Japanese tomb, graves of fallen English soldiers, destroyed houses at the Litsun waterworks, machinery and boiler house at the Litsun waterworks, German dummy gun on Moltkeberg, Japanese tomb on Walderseehöhe, Stecher Fuchsweg battery, Iltisberg battery, Japanese gun emplacement. - Minimal wear and silvering to edges, otherwise overall good condition.
