Manuskripte und Urkunden – Henri Vicomte de Vaublanc** (1803 in Montpellier - 1874 in München) kam im Jahr 1836 als Bibliothekar des Kronprinzen Maximilian an den Hof in München. Der vielseitig gebildete homme de lettres begleitete den Kronprinzen regelmäßig auf dessen Auslandsreisen. Auch während der Regierungszeit von König Maximilian II. Joseph (1848-1864) blieb Vaublanc ein enger Vertrauter und kunstsinniger Berater des Monarchen. Darüber hinaus diente er als Obersthofmeister der Königin Marie von Preußen. Das hier beschriebene Manuskript entstand vermutlich kurz nach einer Reise zur Weltausstellung im Sommer 1867. Es enthält Vaublancs persönliche Eindrücke und Beobachtungen und wurde im darauffolgenden Jahr, um ein Vorwort zur Geschichte der Weltausstellungen sowie ein Inhaltsverzeichnis ergänzt, unter demselben Titel in kleiner Auflage bei Techener in Paris veröffentlicht. Vaublanc bemüht sich um ein umfassendes, aber auch subjektiv gefärbtes Bild der Ausstellung, das auch seine Erfahrungen aus Bayern - insbesondere aus München - mit einbezieht. Unter den Ausstellungsbauten im Park hebt er besonders den Maurischen Kiosk hervor ("charmant kiosque mauresque de Diebitsch de Berlin"), den König Ludwig II. später für den Schlosspark von Linderhof erwarb. - Titel gestempelt "Manuscrit du V(icom)te de Vaublanc", zahlr. Vermerke u. Korrekturen in Tinte u. Bleistift, insg. wohlerhalten.

Zeller, Munich). 3 thread-stitched quires, loose in contemp. wrapper with handwritten cover title "affaires non terminées" (torn on spine, occasional small marginal wear, slight foxing on edges). - Henri Vicomte de Vaublanc** (1803 in Montpellier - 1874 in Munich) came to the court in Munich in 1836 as librarian to Crown Prince Maximilian. The versatile man of letters regularly accompanied the Crown Prince on his trips abroad. Even during the reign of King Maximilian II Joseph (1848-1864), Vaublanc remained a close confidant and art-loving advisor to the monarch. He also served as Lord Chamberlain to Queen Marie of Prussia. The manuscript described here was probably written shortly after a trip to the World Exhibition in the summer of 1867. It contains Vaublanc's personal impressions and observations and was published the following year, supplemented by a preface on the history of world exhibitions and a table of contents, in a small edition under the same title by Techener in Paris. Vaublanc strives to provide a comprehensive, yet also subjectively coloured, picture of the exhibition, which also includes his experiences in Bavaria - particularly Munich. Among the exhibition buildings in the park, he particularly highlights the Moorish Kiosk ("charmant kiosque mauresque de Diebitsch de Berlin"), which King Ludwig II later acquired for the Linderhof Palace park. - Title stamped "Manuscrit du V(icom)te de Vaublanc," numerous annotations and corrections in ink and pencil, overall well preserved.
