Photographie - Photographen – Kohler war im 1. Weltkrieg in Deutschsüdwestafrika als richterlicher Militärjustizbeamter und Feldgerichtsrat eingesetzt. - Einige mit Photographenstempel von R. Wywias, G. Reinebeck u. Photography – Collection of 59 orig. photographs from the estate of Rudolf Kohler, notary in German South West Africa. Vintages. Albumen and silver gelatin prints. - During World War I, Kohler was employed in German South West Africa as a judicial military justice officer and field court counsellor. - Some with photographer's stamps from R. Wywias, G. Reinebeck and Erich Staebe. - The photos, partially inscribed on verso, show, among other things: mission church, carriage in front of farmstead, farm, steamboat, cart in front of lighthouse and advertising column, Ovamboland, colonial troops, watering hole, colonial troops, E&L Rascher and road to the Hansa Hotel, Otavi Railway subtitled 'Förster's trip to Omaruru 1909', horseman Kohler with rifle, black colonial soldier, loom with local woman, Kunene, Kohler with merchant Smith, Swakopund (bridge, Herero wedding 1909), Landing stage, Ovambo women with children, women in front of native shipyard, cattle at waterhole, termite mound, war memorial in Windhoek, fallen soldiers against Witbois 1893/94, Field workers in Oseraomewa, 1908, Bushman drawings, monitor lizard, Rehobot river, Amboland landscape, destroyed dilapidated dwellings, Windhoek, Ovambo stronghold, Ovambo shipyard of a captain, natives and oxen team, waterhole and water barrel transport on horseback. - A few photos with small tears, stains and minor edge damage, overall in good condition.
