Geographie und Reisen – Vermutlich nach einem Kupferstich Joseph Jungs entstand die fein ausgearbeitete Zeichnung der Ansicht von Freiburg in der Schweiz. Joseph Jung orientierte sich für seinen Stich an einer großformatigen Zeichnung Domenico Quaglios (heute im Kupferstichkabinett Berlin) und fügte seiner Darstellung noch Figurenstaffage hinzu, wie sie auch auf unserer Arbeit zu sehen ist. - Im Rand sowie in den Kanten etwas knickspurig, unten links mit kleinem Papierabschnitt, die Ecken oben links und unten rechts etwas knickspurig, verso mit hinterlegten kurzen Einrissen. Insgesamt gut. Fein schattierte und detailliert ausgearbeitete Ansichtszeichnung.

Geography and Travel – Sepia drawing on wove paper. - The finely elaborated drawing of the view of Fribourg in Switzerland was probably based on an engraving by Joseph Jung. For his engraving, Joseph Jung was inspired by a large-format drawing by Domenico Quaglio (now in the Kupferstichkabinett Berlin) and added figural staffage to his depiction, as can also be seen in our work. - Some creasing in the margins and at the edges, a small loss of paper in the lower left, the upper left and lower right corners somewhat creased, the verso with backed short tears. Good overall. Finely nuanced and detailed drawing.
