Geographie und Reisen – Erste Ausgabe. - Mit hs. Besitzvermerk von Carl Ohde, sowie Wappen Stempel der Familie Ohde. - Finsch bereiste im Auftrag der Neuguineakompanie die Nordostküste von Neuguinea, was zu deren Erwerbung als deutsche Kolonie führte. Zu dieser Ausgabe erschien ein seperat zu erwerbender "Ethnographischer Atlas" mit weiteren 24 Tafeln, der hier nicht vorliegt. - Mit Anstreichungen in Bleistift. Ränder leicht gebräunt und minimal stockfleckig. Insgesamt sehr gut erhalten.

Geography and Travel – With portrait frontispiece and 84 wood engravings, some in the text, as well as 6 map sketches based on drawings by O. Finsch. Half leather with Gold stamped spine label and rich gilt spine (rubbed and bumped). - First edition. - With handwritten ownership note by Carl Ohde, as well as the coat of arms stamp of the Ohde family. - Finsch traveled the northeast coast of New Guinea on behalf of the New Guinea Company, which led to its acquisition as a German colony. A separately available "Ethnographic Atlas" with an additional 24 plates was published for this edition, which is not included here. - With pencil underlining. Margins slightly browned and minimally foxed. Overall very well preserved.
