Kunsthistoriker und Bibliothekar, mit dessen lithographiertem Ex Libris auf dem Vorderspiegel, ebendort Etikett der Buchhandlung Pannagl, Wien. - Mit stärkerem Beschnitt seitens des Buchbinders, die letzten Seiten deshalb mit minimalem Textverlust im oberen Rand. Teils etwas schmutz-, wasser- und stockfleckig. Insgesamt solides Exemplar der elegant in Kursiva gesetzten und kräftig gedruckten Aldine.

Prints before 1600, Bibles, Classics in Original Languages – First comprehensive edition of Caro's poetry, printed in Aldo Manuzio's workshop. - Variant B (according to ICCU) of this first comprehensive edition of the poetry of Italian author Annibale Caro (1507-1566), who had made a name for himself among his contemporaries primarily through his polished Tuscan style and his humorous way of writing. - Provenance: Heinrich Röttinger (1869-1952), Austrian art historian and librarian, with his lithographed ex libris on the front paste-down, as well as with the label of the Pannagl bookstore, Vienna, in the same place. - With stronger trimming by the bookbinder, the last pages therefore with minimal loss of text in the upper margin. Somewhat soiled, water-stained, and foxed. Overall, a solid copy of this book, elegantly typset in Italics and boldly printed by Aldo Manuzio's son.
