Sammlung von ca. 173 OPhotographien vom Einsatz der SMS Bremen im Einsatz als Stationskreuzer in Süd-, Mittel und Nordamerika. Vintages. Silbergelatineabzüge. Um 1909-1910. Format je ca. 13 x 18 cm.

Geographie und Reisen – Am 27. August 1904 verließ das Schiff Kiel und traf am 25. September 1904 in Rio de Janeiro ein. Anschließend folgten 9½ Jahre Einsatz als Stationskreuzer. Dabei besuchte die Bremen viele Häfen in Süd-, Mittel- und Nordamerika. Im November 1910 führten ein britisches und ein US-Kriegsschiff zusammen mit SMS Bremen unter deutschem Oberbefehl die Absetzung des Revolutionsgenerals Valladares im Pazifikhafen Amapala in Honduras durch. - Gezeigt werden u.a.: Indigene und Einheimische (Patagonien, Feuerlandindianer), Matrosen der SMS Bremen im brasilianischen Urwald, Szenen an Bord, Bahia, Brücke, Osorno, Chile (Iquique, Parade, Besatzung beim Bier), Valparaiso (Markt, Standseilbahn (Ascensores)), Bauarbeiten am Panamakanal, Ausrücken zum Schießen, Beagle u. Cockburn Canal, Landgang, Damenbesuch, San Miguel, Honduras, Rio de Janeiro, Peru (Infiernillo Eisenbahnbrücke, Andenbahn), Almirante Montt, Karibik, Friedhof, Honduras Valladares, Magellanstraße etc. - Ca. 12 Abzüge mit einkopierter, tls. dat. Bezeichnung (Atlantic Linientaufe, Chiles Küste, Smyths Kanal, S.M.S. Bremen im Hafen von Corral, Altes Fort bei Corral, Corral (bei den Walfischfängern, St. Thomas), Osorno / Manschaften beim Osado. - Einige Dubletten. - Tls. etw. verblasst u. an den Ecken bestoßen, gelegentlich fleckig u. angeknickt, vereinzelt Läsuren u. in den Rändern gering ausgesilbert, sonst insg. wohlerhalten.
Geography and Travel – America - South America - Collection of approx. 173 orig. photographs of the SMS Bremen's deployment as a station cruiser in South, Central, and North America. Vintages. Gelatin silver prints. - On August 27, 1904, the ship left Kiel and arrived in Rio de Janeiro on September 25, 1904. This was followed by nine and a half years of service as a station cruiser. During this time, the Bremen visited many ports in South, Central, and North America. In November 1910, a British and a US warship, together with SMS Bremen, under German command, carried out the deposition of revolutionary general Valladares in the Pacific port of Amapala, Honduras. - Shown are among other things: indigenous people and locals (Patagonia, Tierra del Fuego Indians), sailors of the SMS Bremen in the Brazilian jungle, scenes on board, Bahia, bridge, Osorno, Iquique, Chile (parade, crew drinking beer), Valparaiso (market, funicular (Ascensores)), construction work on the Panama Canal, marching out to shoot, Beagle and Cockburn Canal, shore leave, ladies' visit, San Miguel, Honduras, Rio de Janeiro, Peru (Infiernillo railway bridge, Andes railway), Almirante Montt, Caribbean, cemetery, Honduras Valladares, Strait of Magellan etc. - Approx. 12 prints with copied, partly dated title (Atlantic Line Christening, Chile's Coast, Smyth's Channel, S.M.S. Bremen in the harbor of Corral, Old Fort near Corral, Corral (near the whalers, St. Thomas), Osorno / crews at Osado. - Some duplicates. - Somewhat faded and bumped at the corners, occ. stained and creased, isolated damage and slight silvering in the margins, otherwise overall well preserved.
