Geographie und Reisen – Erste dt. Ausgabe. - Henze I, 483 ff. - Embacher 69 - Cameron leitete 1872 eine Expedition zur Unterstützung Livingstones. Nach dessen Tode setzte er seine Reise fort und durchquerte dabei als erster Zentralafrika von Ost nach West. - Bd. I u. II mit Stempelexlbris a.d. Titel, Bd. II zudem mit mont. Etikett u. Besitzvermerk als Blindstempel. - Papierbedingt meist etw. stockfleckig (tls etw. stärker betroffen), Buchblock von Bd. I etw. unfachmännisch geklebt, Bd. II mit gelöstem Buchblock (die Bindung jedoch fest u. nur einzelne Bll. gelöst). Insgesamt in guter Erhaltung, mit zahlr. feinen Holzschnitt-Illustrationen sowie der oft fehlenden Karte.

With 29 plates, 4 facsimiles and 1 folded lithogr. map. - Green orig. cloth with gilt title on spine, title on cover (slightly rubbed a. bumped). - First german edition. - Vol. I and II with stamped bookplate on title, vol. II also with mounted label and ownership note as blindstamp. - Mostly somewhat foxed due to paper (some more heavily affected), book block of vol. I somewhat unprofessionally affixed, vol. II with detached book block (the binding, however, firm and only a few pages detached). Overall in good condition, with numerous fine woodcut illustrations and the often missing map.
