Landgrafens zu Hessen, Fürsten zu Herrfeld, Grafens zu Catzettelnbogen-Dietz Bregenhain Nidda Schauenburg Ösenburg und Büdingen, mit Sr. Fürstl. Durchl. Herzgeliebtesten Fürstl. Fr. Gemahlin, der auch Durchleuchtigsten Fürstin und Frauen, FRAUEN ELISABETH DOROTHEA, Landgräfin zu Hessen, Fürstin zu Herrfeld, geborner Herzogin zu Sachsen, Jülich, Cleve und Bergen, Gräfin zu (.), in die fürstl. Residenz Darmstadt, dasselbe am 23. Febr. 1667 des Abends um 10 Uhr außerhalb dem Hochfrüstl. Gr 99/119. - Muzeum Narodowe Warszawie. - Gr.ObN.3839 MNW - Prachtvoller und kontrastreicher Druck des Schweizer Kupferstechers Johann Schweizer der die die Hochzeit des Landgraf Ludwig von Hessen mit Elisabeth Dorothea zu Sachsen-Gotha begleitete und diese in mehreren Kupferstichen festhielt. Unser Blatt dokumentiert auf eindrückliche Weise das Feuerwerk, das anlässlich der Vermählung gezündet wurde. - Blatt verso mit kleinen Fleckchen und im oberen Drittel mit Abklatsch. Insgesamt sehr gut mit nuanciertem Druck der beeindruckenden Komposition.

Technique – Fireworks. - Copperplate engraving on wove paper. Mounted in spots under passepartout. - Impressive and luminous print. - Very rare, not available in the international trade. The Swiss engraver Johann Schweizer accompanied the wedding of Landgrave Ludwig of Hesse to Elisabeth Dorothea of Saxe-Gotha and recorded it in several engravings. Our sheet impressively documents the fireworks that were set off on the occasion of the wedding. - sheet with small stains and in the upper third with offset on verso. Folded several times. Margins closely trimmed. Overall very good with nuanced imprint of the impressive composition. - Here with remnants of mounting on verso.
