Es handelt sich um die erste Publikation von Daudin, der insgesamt nur zwei Werke veröffentlichte. Die Zeichnungen für die detailreichen Kupferstiche stammen teils von seiner Frau Adèle Daudin. Auf den insgesamt 38 Tafeln werden 54 Arten von Fröschen und Kröten abgebildet. - Ränder gebräunt, stockfleckig. Insgesamt gut erhalten.

Paris, Chez Levrault, (1802). cardboard with mounted gilt stamped label (rubbed and bumped, spine with glue residue). - With label from a possible noble family Sommerberg. - Daudin's work deals with a series of frogs and toads. This is the first publication by Daudin, who only published two works in total. Some of the drawings for the detailed engravings were made by his wife Adèle Daudin. The 38 plates depict 54 species of frogs and toads. - Margins browned, foxing. Overall in good condition.
