Allgemeine Naturgeschichte für alle Stände. Thierreich. Teile 4-7 in 8 Bde. u. Atlas. Mit einem gestochenen Portrait Frontispiz, Atlas mit einem illustrierten Titelblatt und 161 größtenteils kolorierten Tafeln. Stuttgart, Hoffmann, 1833-38. 8°. und 4°. Pp. mit goldgepr. RSchilden und umseitigem Farbschnitt (Textbände), HLwd. mit goldgepr. RTitel (berieben und bestoßen, Textbde. angestaubt u. mit Rückständen auf den Rücken).

Naturwissenschaften – Nissen ZBI 3006. - Anker S. 375. - Junk, Rara S. 267. - Eine der umfassendsten Naturgeschichten ihrer Zeit des deutschen Mediziners und Naturforschers Lorenz Oken (1779-1851). - Die Tafeln in schönem, leuchtenden Kolorit mit Darstellungen von Reptilien, Fischen, Vögeln, Käfern etc. - Stockfleckig, ersten Tafeln stärker stockfleckig, Ränder gebräunt. Insgesamt gut erhaltene Exemplare mit prachtvollen Tafeln.
Natural Sciences – Zoology - Parts 4-7 in 8 vols. and atlas. With an engraved portrait frontispiece, atlas with an illustrated title page and 161 mostly coloured plates. Cardboard with gilt stamped spine labels and colour edges on all sides (text volumes), half canvas with gilt stamped title (rubbed and bumped, text volumes dusty and with residue on the spines). - One of the most comprehensive natural histories of its time by the German physician and naturalist Lorenz Oken (1779-1851). - The plates in beautiful, bright colouring with depictions of reptiles, fish, birds, beetles etc. - Foxing, first plates more heavily foxed, margins browned. Overall well-preserved copies with splendid plates.
