Paris, Gueffier, 1769-1770. 2 Bll., IV, XXIII, 243 S., 3 Bll. - 2 Bll., X, 1 Bl., 322 S., IV. - XVI, 240 S., 5 Bll. 8°. Marmorierte Pp.-Bde. des 19. Jh. mit goldgepr. RSchildern und Grünschnitt (etwas berieben und bestoßen, Rücken mit kleinen Fehlstellen).

Naturwissenschaften – Erste Ausgabe. - Edmé-Gilles Guyot (1706-1786) war ein französischer Arzt, Postmeister, Kartograph, Erfinder und Autor auf dem Gebiet der Mathematik, Physik und Magie. Er experimentierte mit optischen Täuschungen und der Zauberkunst. Seine Versuche zur Geistererscheinung durch die Projektion einer Figur in den Rauch trugen zur Entwicklung der Techniken bei, die in der Phantasmagorie verwendet werden. - Tafel 16 in Bd. I mit Randausrissen. Etwas gebräunt und teils leicht fleckig. Insgesamt wohlerhalten.

Marbled 19th century paperback bindings with gilt spine labels and green edges (somewhat rubbed and bumped, spines with small losses). - First edition. - Edmé-Gilles Guyot (1706-1786) was a French physician, postmaster, cartographer, inventor and author in the fields of mathematics, physics and magic. He experimented with optical illusions and the art of magic. His experiments on the appearance of ghosts by projecting a figure into smoke contributed to the development of the techniques used in phantasmagoria. - Plate 16 in vol. I with marginal tears. Somewhat browned and slightly stained in places. Overall well preserved.
