Besitzereinträgen, an den Gelenken teils angebrochen, an den Ecken und Kanten bestoßen, gering wurmgängig).

Alte Drucke, Bibeln, Klassische Autoren in den Originalsprachen – Reich illustrierte Ausgabe von Boiardos Renaissance Epos. - EDIT 16 CNCE B-2769. - Adams I, 2320. - BM STC Italian, S. 115. - Brunet I 1050. - Graesse I 471. - Verbesserte, vermehrte und mit einem umfangreichen Begriffsregister erweiterte Ausgabe des unvollendeten Werks aus der Feder des italienischen Renaissance-Dichters Matteo Maria Boiardo (1440-94). - Die ausladend mit Bordüren geschmückten Illustrationen im Holzschnitt stehen am Anfang eines jeden der 102 "Canti". - Titelblatt mit alten, verblassten Besitzerstempeln, Vorderspiegel mit Besitzeretikett, Vorsatz verso mit Annotationen mittels Bleistift, vereinzelt hs. Marginalien von alter Hand, einige Seiten mit kleinen Randläsuren bzw. an den Rändern hinterlegt, teils leicht finger-, schmutz- und stockfleckig, an den Rändern mitunter mit Wasserflecken. Insgesamt gut erhaltenes Exemplar dieses im Handel seltenen Titels, für uns diese Ausgabe auf Auktionen in nur 3 Exemplaren nachweisbar.

Prints before 1600, Bibles, Classics in Original Languages – Richly illustrated edition of Boiardo's famous Renaissance epic. - Improved, enlarged, and expanded edition with an extensive index of terms, of this unfinished work by the Italian Renaissance poet Matteo Maria Boiardo (1440-94). - The lavishly decorated wood-cut illustrations, also framed by wood-cut borders, are at the beginning of each of the 102 "Canti." - Title page with old, faded owner's stamps, front endpaper with owner's label, endpaper verso with pencil annotations, several pages with annotations by another old hand, some pages with minor faults at margins, those partly restored, in parts slightly finger-stained, soiled and foxed, with occasional water-stains along the margins. Overall, a well-preserved copy of this Renaissance gem. Very rare in the trade, this edition only three times at auctions.
