Sammelband mit 5 Sonderabdrucken von Akademie-Schriften zur fossilen Flora in Bergbaugebieten von Mähren, Schlesien, Hessen, Sachsen, der Steiermark und dem heutigen Kroatien, jeweils mit handschriftlichen Widmungen des Verfasser auf vorgebundenen Papierstreifen an den Montanisten Wenzel Radimsky. Naturwissenschaften – Sammelband mit 5 botanische Aufsätzen eines Pioniers des Naturselbstdrucks, allesamt vom Verfasser gewidmet. - ÖBL 1815-1950, Bd. 1 (Lfg. 3, 1956), S. 272 (Ettingshausen) bzw. ÖBL 1815-1950, Bd. 8 (Lfg. 39, 1982), S. 375 (Radomski). - Constantin Freiherr von Ettingshausen (1826-97) gilt als Gründer der Paläobotanik im Kaisertum Österreich und in seinen Veröffentlichungen als Pionier des Naturselbstdrucks, den er dort (u.a. gemeinsam mit Alois Pokorny) als bevorzugtes Darstellungsmittel verwendete. - Der vorliegende Band umfasst 5 Sonderabdrucke aus den "Sitzungsberichten" der Österr. Akademie der Wissenschaften (Bde. LI, LV, LVII, LX und LXI, 1863-70), dessen korrespondierendes Mitglied Ettingshausen bereits mit 27 Jahren geworden war. Aufgenommen sind die mit insgesamt 17 gefalteten lithografischen Tafeln reich illustrierten Aufsätze (1) »Die fossile Flora des mährisch-schlesischen Dachschiefers«, (2) »Die Kreideflora von Niederschoena in Sachsen«, (3) »Die fossile Flora der älteren Braunkohlenformation der Wetterau«, (4) »Beiträge zur Kenntniß der Tertiärflora Steiermark's« und (5) »Beiträge zur Kenntniß der fossilen Flora von Radoboj«. - Provenienz: Der mit den vorliegenden Drucken bewidmete Montanist Wenzel Radimsky (1832-95) beschäftigte sich seit den 1880er-Jahren auch mit urgeschichtlich-archäologischen Forschungen, v.a. auch in Bosnien und der Herzegowina, wo er u.a. die Leitung der Berghauptmannschaft inne hatte. - Teils stockfleckig, sonst wohlerhalten, ein unikales, sammelnswertes Dokument naturwissenschaftlichen Forscheraustauschs im 19. Jh.

Natural Sciences – Geology. - Paleontology. - Sammelband containing five botanical essays by a pioneer of nature printing, all inscribed by the author. - With 17 lithographed folding plates based on pencil drawings by Johann Bortoluzzi et al., as well as 27 folding tables. - Constantin Freiherr von Ettingshausen (1826-97) is considered the founder of palaeobotany in the Austrian Empire and, in his publications, together with Alois Pokorny a pioneer of natural printing (Naturselbstdruck), which he used there as his preferred means of representation. - This volume comprises five selected offprints from the 'Sitzungsberichte' (Proceedings) of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (vols. LI, LV, LVII, LX and LXI, 1863-70), of which Ettingshausen had become a corresponding member at the age of only 27. Included are the following richly illustrated essays: (1) 'The Fossil Flora of the Moravian-Silesian Roof Slate,' (2) 'The Cretaceous Flora of Niederschoena in Saxony,' (3) 'The Fossil Flora of the Older Brown Coal Formation of Wetterau,' (4) 'Contributions to the Knowledge of the Tertiary Flora of Styria,' and (5) 'Contributions to the Knowledge of the Fossil Flora of Radoboj.' - Provenance: Wenzel Radimsky (1832-95), a mining engineer and recipient of the inscribed offprints, had been involved in prehistoric archaeological research since the 1880s, particularly in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he held the position of head of the Austrian mining authority. - Partially foxed, otherwise well preserved, a unique and very collectible document about networking between natural scientists in the 19th century.
