Naturwissenschaften – Umfasst die Bilanzen des gesamten Jahres 1687 von Einnahmen und Ausgaben für Löhne von Köhlern, Holzarbeitern und Eisengießern, (namentlich), Ausgaben für Holz, Eisenerz etc. Einnahmen von Stahl und Eisen, Ausrüstungen usw. In den gräflichen Hütten wurden zu jener Zeit hauptsächlich Öfen bzw. Ofentüren, Werkzeuge und Waffen hergestellt. - Die Oberndorffer Stahlhütte der Grafen von Solms um 1687 war eine im Solmsbachtal gelegene Anlage zur Eisenerzeugung und Eisenverarbeitung, bestehend aus Schmelzhütte und Eisenhammer. Die Anlage umfasste einen Hochofen zur Roheisenerzeugung, einen Eisenhammer sowie Gießerei-Einrichtungen zur Herstellung von Ofenplatten und Stabeisen. Das benötigte Holz wurde aus den herrschaftlichen Wäldern der Grafen von Solms entnommen. Neben dem Hochofen und Eisenhammer gab es Lagerplätze für Erz und Holzkohle sowie Arbeits- und Wohngebäude für die Beschäftigten. - Das Solmsbachtal liegt im mittelhessischen Taunus und erstreckt sich entlang des Solmsbachs, eines Nebenflusses der Lahn zwischen der Region um Wetzlar und dem Naturpark Taunus. Einzigartige Primärquelle zum Hüttenwesen in Deutschland des 17. Jahrhunderts!
