Schinkel

Architektur – Vermutlich während des Studienkurses "Einrichtung und Construction einfacher Gebäude. Cursus für Bauführer (Winter Semester 1857/58)" unter dem Architekten Ferdinand von Arnim und an der Berliner Bauakademie entstand die Entwurfszeichnung für eine Grabkapelle, dargestellt als Aufriss, Schnitt und Grundriss, die beiden letzteren mit angegebenem Maßstab (vgl. "Einrichtung und Construction einfacher Gebäude". Berlin, Loeillot, (1854/55 - 1857/58). Exemplar KI, Sign. Dd 20.) - Ferdinand von Arnim, Architekt und Baubeamter war ein Schüler von Karl Friedrich Schinkel, er war überwiegend in Berlin und Potsdam tätig. Ab 1846 war er als Lehrer, ab 1857 als Professor an der Berliner Bauakademie tätig. - Die Zeichnung einer Grabkapelle zeigt ganz den klassizistischen Vorbildern Schinkels verpflichtet einen streng symmetrischen Aufbau mit herrschaftlichem Säulenportikus sowie Dreiecksgiebeln sowie auf dem Dach thronende Giebelskulptur eines Engels. - Papierbedingt angebräunt und minimal fleckig, etw. lichtrandig, im linken Rand mit kurzem Einriss, nur vereinzelt mit zart blassbraunen Fleckchen. Insgesamt sehr gut.

Architecture – Architecture - Original architecture drawing. Pencil and pen partly watercolored on wove paper. Inscribed "entw. u. gez. von C. v. Roessler Berlin 6.2.58. - U. von Arnim 6/3 58." in brown ink in the lower right. Inserted under mat. - Presumably during a study class under the architect Ferdinand von Arnim and at the Berliner Bauakadamie, the design drawing for a burial chapel was created, shown as an elevation, section and ground plan, the last two with the scale indicated. - Ferdinand von Arnim, architect and building official was a pupil of Karl Friedrich Schinkel, he worked mainly in Berlin and Potsdam. From 1846 he was a teacher and from 1857 a professor at the Berlin Academy of Architecture. - The drawing of a funerary chapel shows a strictly symmetrical structure with a stately columned portico and triangular gables as well as a pediment sculpture of an angel enthroned on the roof, in the spirit of Schinkel's classicist models. - Browned and minimally stained due to paper, somewhat light-stained, with a short tear in the left margin, only a few isolated pale brown spots. Overall very well preserved.
